How to grow long hair with the greenhouse effect and baggy method

If you are not familiar with these two techniques, you are at the right place! They are best known for their moisturizing effects and how easily they can be fit into your natural hair

regimen.

The Greenhouse Effect is also known as GHE and it is one way to introduce moisture into the hair. One of the main reasons why a lot of people use this method is to stimulate hair growth. It is theorized that your body's heat stimulates the hair follicles and increases natural oil (sebum) production. This then encourages cellular growth of the scalp. Even though there have not been many studies to prove hair growth it is worth a try!

You can start with clean or dirty hair, apply a water-based conditioner, and then cover your head with a plastic cap. You can keep your whole head covered overnight or for a few minutes. The heat from your body and the water not only opens the hair cuticle, allowing moisture in but the sweat from your scalp helps unclog pores & stimulate new growth.

The Baggy Method is typically used for moisture retention only and not growth stimulation. Clean The neat thing about this method is that you can decide on doing this technique on your entire head or just the driest portions of your hair. Your ends.

It is recommended that you use this technique on clean hair, along with your favorite moisturizer. You apply it to your whole head and cover with a plastic cap. If treating only your ends, you can apply your favorite oil or butter and tie small plastic baggies around your ends or cover with saran wrap.

Remember both methods offer moisturizing benefits that can be used to retain moisture. However there are four differences.

I really enjoy using the Greenhouse method with my favorite conditioner before I shampoo. I section my hair, apply conditioner or my favorite pre-shampoo treatment to each section and cover it with a plastic cap for 30 min. It really helps with moisture retention.
